SUMMARY:
The Systems Support Specialist will serve as a key IT resource responsible for supporting business systems (including ERP and EDI) while also providing on-site technology support at the facility. This role is designed to reduce the systems support burden on the Data Analytics team, while also ensuring the IT infrastructure and end-user needs at both sites are proactively supported. A strong foundation in networking, structured cabling, and desktop support are essential for success in this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systems Support
- Serve as a first- and second-level support resource for the ERP system across departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Inventory).
- Learn and document core business workflows such as Accounts Payable, Inventory Control, and Order Management.
- Support EDI workflows, ensuring successful data exchange and basic troubleshooting of transmission issues.
- Develop SQL queries for data validation, error investigation, and reporting in support of business systems.
- Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to offload and document recurring support tasks.
- Assist in ERP upgrades, configuration testing, and user training initiatives.
Site IT Support
- Serve as the primary IT contact at the location.
- Provide on-site support for desktop hardware, printers, scanners, and other user-facing technology.
- Install and troubleshoot Ethernet cabling, fiber connectivity, and wireless networks.
- Monitor and support local infrastructure (switches, access points, network cabinets).
- Escalate critical infrastructure issues to senior networking staff or vendors as needed.
- Ensure IT hardware inventory and asset management are maintained.
- Flexibility required for after-hours support or special projects at site.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems support, or business analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Ross) and standard business functions (Accounts Payable, Inventory, etc.).
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience supporting EDI workflows preferred.
- Strong foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnets, DNS, DHCP).
- Hands-on experience with Ethernet cabling, fiber, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop support issues (hardware/software).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to support site travel.
- Experience with Meraki or Cisco network equipment.
- Understanding of VLANs, basic routing, and Layer 2 switching.
- Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence platforms.
- Ability to read and maintain network diagrams and patch panel documentation.
