Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Pharmacy Assistant at our Niverville Pharmacy located at 103 101 2nd Avenue S, Niverville, Manitoba. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager. The Pharmacy Assistant adds value to our Co-operative by assisting with the operation of the retail pharmacy, including responsibility for quality patient care.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
Accept a written prescription order for the new and refill prescriptions.
Verify all data on the prescription (patient name and address; physician name and address; date of prescription; drug; directions; quantity; refills; physician signature).
Verify and input third-party coverage information.
Verify quantities for filling.
Determine appropriate staffing of prescriptions.
Scan new prescription into pharmacy database (Kroll).
Enter prescription information into pharmacy database (Kroll).
Report any actual or perceived issues concerning the dispensing of prescriptions to the Pharmacist on Duty.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
Previous technician experience required.
Previous experience with Kroll pharmacy software is an asset.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Possess strong, independent problem-solving skills.
Availability to work a minimum of 24 hours per week.
