SUMMARY:
The Fleet Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal condition for the safe transportation of our products. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting our operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the following responsibilities in accordance with VoidForm policies and procedures, work rules, expectations, and behavior standards:
- Performs routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles, including trucks and trailers.
- Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner
- Conducts preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of our fleet.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems.
- Collaborates with Fleet manager to prioritize and schedule repairs.
- Assists with vehicle inspections and compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintains accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Responds to emergency breakdowns and provides on-site repairs when needed
- Upholds safety protocols and ensures vehicles are safe for operations.
- Provides technical guidance and support to drivers and other team members
- Performs other duties as assigned based on experience, skills, and business needs.
Requirements
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Training, and Experience Required)
- Required: 3 years experience as a mechanic, preferably in a fleet or commercial vehicle setting
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: CDL License
- Preferred: Technical education, ASE certification, or college
- Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics and repaid, including the use of diagnostic equipment
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and parts ordering
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Physical fitness and dexterity for working in various weather conditions and environments
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record (CDL may be required in some cases)
- Able to work both individually and in a team.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical components.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic
