Your Role at MediaLab
As an Video Producer, Original Content you will play a key role in supporting and improving the output of unique video content critical to our brands, specifically Genius. Your initial focus will be on managing the production of our original videos for YouTube and socials from pre-production through post. You will work to enhance efficiency, creativity and cross-team collaboration, ensuring alignment with our overall content goals. Additionally, you will provide support for our Senior Manager of Original Video and liaison with artist teams as needed to achieve success in this role.
What You’ll Do
Report to our Sr. Manager, Original Video.
Manage the production of Genius original video series from pre-production through post-production.
Maintain and organize dates, deadlines, and deliverables via project management tools, primarily Monday.com.
Manage shoot schedules and post-production calendars for editors.
Pitch ideas, write scripts, create pre-production documents, and lead pre-production calls.
Provide creative and practical input during all phases of production.
Collaborate with the content team to develop new series.
Partner with branded production to produce sponsored episodes as needed.
Create publishing documents for each original video and share them with stakeholders.
Publish fully edited videos to the Genius YouTube channel.
Organize, manage, and maintain our cloud-based video archive to ensure easy access, proper storage, and long-term preservation of assets.
What We’re Searching For
5+ years of experience in music-focused media.
Experience working with artists and on-camera talent.
A deep passion and knowledge of music, especially Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, and/or Latin music.
Strong editorial judgment and understanding of storytelling in music culture.
Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Monday.com, Asana, and Frame.io.
Experience working with cloud-based storage solutions such as LucidLink.
Ability to manage multiple productions or projects with competing deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
