About the Department
The purpose of this class is to assist with the efficient operation of the Student’s Office, by providing accurate analysis of student accounts through interaction with students and the college community
Position Duties
High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of full time experience that includes being responsible for cash handling, book keeping or financial clerical duties. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience working with the public is required. Must be able to work 11AM – 7PM during peak registration. Overtime is required during peak registration periods including the ability to work weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Assist and provide information to student related to credit and non-credit tuition and fees.
- Perform various clerical duties, including answering phones, distributing mail, drafting correspondence and filing.
Other Qualifications
- Provide service to students in facilitating payment of credit and non-credit tuition and fees via cash, check, credit card, wire transfers or deferred payment. Payments may be in person, over the telephone or through the mail.
- Answer questions and provide explanations of student accounts, via the telephone or in person.
- Process payments and deposits collected from other departments, keeping the account number listing up to date.
- Reconcile and prepare daily receipts for deposit.
- Accept, verify and enter contracts, scholarships and waivers.
- Prepare and distribute bookstore vouchers.
- Cash checks for eligible employees.
- Disburse petty cash and refunds according to college policy.
