Description
The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is seeking a Manager - Solutions Engineering .
This fulltime position is a hybrid position based partially at the ARRT office in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, and partially from an approved alternative location local to the St. Paul metro area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Software Development
· Manage development teams of software engineers and quality assurance engineers.
· Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.
· Lead design, development, testing, and release of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
· Ensure engineering and quality assurance practices follow industry standards, including code reviews, test automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and secure coding principles.
· Serve as the escalation point for high-priority production issues by coordinating rapid triage, conducting root cause analysis, and leading resolution activities.
· Lead the team(s) in solutioning while working closely with department leads and subject matter experts of the organization.
· Oversee and prioritize business-as-usual (BAU)activities including bug fixes, question and answer, small enhancements, and maintenance work while ensuring strategic deliverables.
· Drive continuous improvement in development and testing processes to increase speed, quality, and efficiency.
· Establish and enforce standards for coding, testing, and documentation.
· Facilitate estimations of work items and determine team capacity to share as needed.
· Manage software renewals, subscriptions, and licensing of assigned applications.
· Monitor and manage technical debt, system performance, and scalability considerations.
· Support adoption of new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance team productivity while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the teams and among other ARRT departments.
· Own the software development responsibilities and delegate or perform as necessary.
General Supervisory Responsibilities
· Monitor work responsibilities of staff. Ensure coverage for departmental responsibilities.
· Oversee staff schedules, approve leave, review, and finalize pay period timesheets.
· Develop and coach staff through one-on-one meetings and additional methods, respond to staff needs and suggestions, and provide ongoing feedback.
· Orient, onboard, and train new staff. Assess the need for, and provide or coordinate, any ongoing training.
· Enforce staff policies as set in ARRT Employee Handbook.
· Manage staff performance, correlate job descriptions with performance management, participate in talent acquisition process, and participate in salary review sessions.
· Work with staff to develop an inclusive and effective teamwork environment.
· Maintain and elevate working relationships with other ARRT departments. Mentor the team on effective ways to communicate and work as a group.
· Participate in ARRT projects as assigned.
· Participate in professional development activities.
· Perform other duties as required and modified as business needs arise.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Ten or more years of experience in software development
· Four or more years of experience in team leadership of developers and QA engineers delivering complex software products
Preferred Qualifications:
· Degree in computer science or related field
· Certification or credentialing industry experience
· Microsoft Azure and .Net-related frameworks experience
· Technology stack modernization experience
Skills and Abilities:
· Strong technical background in modern programming languages, frameworks, cloud platforms, software architecture, and application design.
· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
· Advanced understanding of software development fundamentals, including system architecture, cloud platforms, and development frameworks.
· Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, iterative development, and cross-functional collaboration.
· Proficiency in incident management, problem management, and BAU operations.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and initiative.
· Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.
· Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills; adaptable to technical and non-technical audiences.
· Collaborative team player, able to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.

Salary Description:
$122,475- $153,094 per year
