The Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of cloud solutions within our organisation. You will focus on leveraging cloud technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support innovative projects across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring best practices are followed in terms of security and scalability.

Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure and related platforms.
  • Deliver exceptional support at 2nd, and 3rd levels for a diverse range of ICT systems and services.
  • Troubleshoot and manage Active Directory, Azure AD, AVD, M365, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange (online/hybrid), and core infrastructure.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Bicep, maintaining configuration control and repeatability.
  • Monitor and optimise system performance, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Own the problem, from first report to final, resolution keeping customers informed every step of the way.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve complex or escalated issues.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by researching emerging technologies and recommending improvements.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in cloud engineering and/or IT support, ideally with Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid workplace environments.
  • Solid background in Windows Server, virtualisation, LAN/WAN networking, and enterprise security.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices.
  • Proficiency with ITSM tools (ServiceNow or similar) and structured incident management processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage time, and perform under pressure without losing your cool.
  • You will also have, or be able to obtain, an Australian security clearance.
