Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist
Reports To: Director of Student Affairs and Operational Services
Department: Administrative Services at San Joaquin Memorial High School
Position Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for San Joaquin Memorial High School, representing the school’s mission and values through warm, professional, and efficient service. This position manages front desk operations, greets and directs visitors, manages access to the campus, and supports administrative tasks to ensure a welcoming and organized school environment. Responsibilities include receiving and routing phone calls, assisting parents, students, and staff, maintaining filing systems, supporting teacher needs, and providing clerical support. The receptionist is expected to uphold confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism, and contribute to the Catholic identity of the school community.
Key Responsibilities
Visitor and Access Management
• Assist lock facilities to ensure campus safety, once school has started
• Cover the attendance office when the attendance clerk is out on lunch
• Greet and welcome all visitors professionally and courteously.
• Verify and record visitor information, issue badges, and manage building access following school safety protocols.
• Direct visitors, parents, and vendors to the appropriate locations or personnel.
Telephone and Communication Support
• Answer, screen, and route incoming calls to the appropriate departments.
• Take and deliver messages promptly and accurately.
• Maintain effective communication with faculty, staff, parents, and students.
• Point of contact when someone radios in for help from the classrooms
Clerical and Office Support
• Manage filing systems, both physical and digital, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Perform clerical duties such as copying, scanning, data entry, and mail distribution.

Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in office administration preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of clerical, receptionist, or customer service experience, preferably in a school or educational setting.
• Experience working in Catholic education or faith-based organizations preferred.
