- Prepare and review journal entries to support the month-end close process, including intercompany transactions and consolidations
- Perform complex data analyses using Microsoft Excel to prepare and review journal entries and support monthly variance reporting
- Review and approve accounts payable vouchers, ensuring accurate coding under GAAP and NuScale’s Chart of Accounts structure
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations for GL accounts and subsystems
- Dedication to continuously improving accounting, reporting, and SOX processes, with ability to lead process improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls, including those for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and external regulations
- Support Assistant Controller in financial statement audits, incurred cost audits, and internal audits
- Act as a subject matter expert and key resource for assigned sections of NuScale’s ongoing Oracle Cloud ERP implementation project, reporting directly to the Director, Controller for this project

- Quality Assurance: Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
- Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Accounting or related business field is required. An advanced degree, Certified Public Accountant designation or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred, but not required.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of full-time accounting experience is required. Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams, as well as independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Additional required or preferred skills are as follows:
- Significant knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Demonstrated proficiency of accounting/auditing in a SOX 404(b) environment
- Proven ability to analyze operational results
- Demonstrated proficiency identifying and driving process improvement initiatives
- ERP system experience in a SOX environment; Oracle Cloud experience preferred
- Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers.
- Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment.
- The employee frequently is required; to sit and stand; walk; bend, use hands to operate office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to travel locally using common forms of transportation.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $99,175 - $119,694 annually. The full pay range is $88,915 - $139,073 annually.
