SUMMARY:
The Ingredient Handler works safely and observes all plant safety, GMP, and food safety rules. Responsible for safe food handling of ingredients required to produce specific sauce products. Such handling includes but is not limited to receiving raw ingredients, opening containers, inspection of ingredients, and verification to standards for mixing of required ingredients. This position will physically handle, lift, unload, pour, bend, stoop, squat, stand and sit in the day-to-day routine of duties. The position shall also be responsible for cleaning the work area and operation of various process machines and equipment. Must be able to also verify receipts, ingredient lists, read and follow standard guidelines and maintain simple records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all safety and GMP rules to assure zero accidents and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Perform manual labor which supports the continuous operation of the production lines. Such duties may include, but not be limited to:
- Sweeping, mopping and washing of floors and equipment
- Loading and unloading of equipment, materials, production components and/or raw materials and ingredients.
- Rotate duties with other workers at other locations in the plant as required.
- Performs simple quality inspections of product, materials and ingredients to assure compliance to standards.
- Maintain simple records and paperwork related to inventory and quality.
- Perform all TPM activities as required.
- Produce batches to formula.
- Reconcile batches/count with Cook Technician to ensure accuracy.
- Perform all cleaning and CIP functions.
- Work closely with Cook Technicians to ensure smooth and uninterrupted sauce delivery to filler.
- Performs other duties required of the position or as directed.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work safely.
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently.
- Perform visual inspections of materials and products.
- Record simple data on paper and/or via keyboard.
- Read and understand simple written instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical aspects of the job as performed in an 8-hour workday.
- Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/ descend.
- Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., 50+ lbs. with assistance.
