Location: Greenville, MI Department: Purchasing
Reports to: Purchasing Supervisor Date: August 2025
Summary
To source, select and procure materials and services from suppliers to support Company needs for materials and services at the lowest cost consistent with accepted standards of quality and service within established time frames.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Utilize Visual ERP system and manual requisitions to drive materials replenishment process.
· Travel to suppliers and assist in managing existing supplier relations. This includes but is not limited to participating in development of new products, team sourcing, visiting suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, and meeting with suppliers concerning problems or other issues related to materials.
· Engage in detailed negotiations of pricing, terms, delivery, service, and vendor quality to purchase materials or services, and optimize company’s investment.
· Collaborate with engineering to secure drawings, specifications, etc. to allow for accurate bid process with qualified suppliers.
· Manage outside process/secondary operations such as secondary machining, heat treating operations, and additional subcontract services as required
· Stay informed of new technologies that can be incorporated into the supply base.
· Expedite materials as required to support customer/ production requirements
· Deliver annual cost savings goals by effectively managing supplier relationships, negotiation, process improvements, and related techniques to enhance total cost advantage
· Identify and resolve discrepancies in services or supplies received regarding price, quantity, etc.
· Develop new sources for materials and services to optimize supply chain effectiveness
· Responsible for all duties related to the purchase of MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) items.
· Participating in lean events that impact both your department and the organization as a whole
· Perform related duties as required.
Skills and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field
· 0-3 years related purchasing/materials experience preferred, combination of skills and manufacturing experience may be considered
· Must understand and be able to work with suppliers to identify Quality Lean Manufacturing Operations and their presence or absence at supplier facilities.
· SAP software experience preferred
· Experience in sourcing aluminum A356, paints, coolant fluids is a plus
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
· Strong written and oral communication skills

Physical Work Conditions
· Must be able to work in a hot environment
· Must be able to lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight
· Must be able to lift 50 – 65 pounds
· Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day
· Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required
