Middle School Health Teacher - Grades 6-8 Deerfield Community School, a PreK–8 public school in Deerfield, NH, is seeking qualified and enthusiastic candidates for a Middle School Health teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a part time position (.75).

The Middle School Health & Wellness Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that promote physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. The teacher will provide instruction aligned with state and district health and wellness standards, fostering students’ skills, knowledge, and attitudes to support lifelong health and wellness.

Instructional Delivery
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality health and wellness lessons for grades 6–8.
Incorporate state and district curriculum standards, integrating current health education best practices.
Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage diverse learners.
Curriculum & Assessment
Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
Integrate health topics such as nutrition, mental health, human development, substance abuse prevention, physical activity, and personal safety.
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Participate in professional development to remain current in health and wellness education.
Support school-wide wellness initiatives and activities.
Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of adolescent physical, mental, and emotional development.
- Current health education standards, state guidelines, and best practices in middle school wellness instruction.
- Strategies for integrating physical health, nutrition, mental health, and social-emotional learning into curriculum.
Skills - Strong instructional planning and classroom management skills.
- Proficient in integrating technology into instruction and student engagement.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Create a positive, supportive classroom culture that encourages healthy lifestyles.
- Handle sensitive health topics with professionalism, cultural competence, and discretion.?
Qualifications Profile Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Physical Education, or related field.
New Hampshire teaching certification in Health Education or eligibility to obtain certification.
Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
