As an Emergency Services Crisis Co-Responder, you'll play a pivotal role in providing on-site, in-person crisis assessment and intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health crises or emotional distress within Beaver Dam, WI. You’ll work side-by-side with law enforcement, county personnel, hospital staff, and other key stakeholders to ensure a compassionate, effective response and a focus on the least restrictive outcomes. The Crisis Co-Responder works under WI statute and Administrative Code (particularly DHS 34 and Chapter 51).
Primary Responsibilities: In this position you will: respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, performing risk assessments and response planning; educate individuals and families about community resources, offering strategies for emotional support and crisis management; apply de-escalation techniques in high-stress situations to stabilize and promote safety; conduct thorough follow-up, identifying ongoing needs and providing referrals to relevant services; maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system and participate in reviews for continuous improvement; represent our organization and County DHS department with professionalism and respect. - Ability to maintain emotional stability and self-regulate in stressful situations.

- Ability to quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers and community partners.
- Adaptive and self-aware with a strong aptitude for crisis intervention.
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize a computer and the required software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Electronic Health Records.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, as well as follow oral and written directives.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills including the ability to organize and prioritize workload based on imminent need.
- Knowledgeable in DHS 34 and DHS Chapter 51 standards.
- Applicant must have reliable transportation to use throughout the workday, a valid Driver’s License, and a computer.
Location of Position: On site in Beaver Dam, WI
Pay Rate: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Shifts/Hours available: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Requirements
Educational Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in a relevant field and a minimum of two years of experience in mental health services, preferably providing mental health crisis services.
