Position Overview:
The Manager of the OrthoArkansas Spine Institute Procedure Center is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, staffing, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance of the facility. This leadership role requires strategic oversight, direct clinical support, and effective collaboration with physicians and administrative teams to ensure high-quality patient care, staff performance, and efficient day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership and Operational Oversight
- Provide leadership and management of clinical staff and resources within the Procedure Center.
- Supervise and adjust staffing plans based on procedure volume and patient acuity.
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide direction to staff on best practices.
- Resource and Cost Management
- Support the Facility Administrator with cost containment in staffing, supplies, equipment, and implants.
- Assess capital equipment needs and submit requests accordingly.
- Code and submit invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Regulatory Compliance and Clinical Standards
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations in clinical practice.
- Function as the Center’s Infection Control Officer, Safety Officer, and Compliance Officer.
- Prepare and present data and reports for Performance Improvement (PI) meetings.
- Communication and Coordination
- Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients/families, and other departments regarding scheduling and procedural changes.
- Monitor the procedure schedule for conflicts and opportunities to improve flow.
- Participate in Medical Executive Committee meetings.
- Administrative Leadership
- Correlate and submit payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Conduct performance reviews and oversee employee relations with HR, including interviewing and hiring.
- Work with IT to maintain system functionality across networks, computers, and communication platforms.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support clinical operations and organizational goals.
- Provide hands-on support in clinical areas when staff coverage is limited.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of related healthcare experience and 2 years in a management role required.
- Broad understanding of clinical operations, regulatory compliance, and healthcare finance.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- RN license
- Operating Room and Management experience
Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage clinical operations while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- High level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
Software Skills:
- Basic: 10-Key, database systems, payroll platforms, presentation tools, spreadsheets, word processing/typing
