The Shelborne will introduces four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar- lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space.


Job Overview:

As a Security Officer reporting to the Director of Front Office, you will have a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and property within the hotel premises. Your professionalism, guest service skills, and keen attention to detail will contribute to creating a secure and welcoming environment for all hotel guests, residents, and staff.

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Ensure the safety and security of guests, colleagues, and visitors by maintaining a visible and vigilant presence throughout the hotel premises.
  2. Monitor and control access to the hotel, allowing only authorized individuals to enter the premises and verifying identification when necessary.
  3. Conduct regular patrols of the hotel interior and exterior, including parking areas, to detect and prevent security breaches, utilizing security cameras and surveillance equipment effectively.
  4. Respond promptly and appropriately to all security incidents, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and disturbances, following established emergency procedures.
  5. Provide exceptional service to hotel guests and visitors by offering assistance and information in a friendly and professional manner.
  6. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all security-related incidents and activities, including incident reports and daily logs.
  7. Assist in managing the lost and found program, ensuring lost items are properly logged and returned to their owners.
  8. Inspect and maintain security equipment, including radios, surveillance cameras, first aid supplies, and fire extinguishers, promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  9. Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as front desk, housekeeping, and engineering, to address safety and security concerns and provide support as needed.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay up to date on security procedures and protocols.
  11. Provide security escorts for guests and colleagues upon request or as deemed necessary.
  12. Assist in controlling crowds during special events or high-traffic periods.
  1. Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified risks effectively.
  2. Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services to ensure swift response and assistance in case of emergencies.
  3. Implement security awareness programs for hotel staff to enhance overall security vigilance and preparedness.
  4. Oversee the implementation of security measures for VIP guests or high-profile events, ensuring their safety and privacy are maintained at all times.
  5. Conduct investigations into security incidents, collaborating with relevant authorities as needed, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with security professionals and industry organizations to stay abreast of the latest security trends and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or the military preferred.
  • Ability to defuse conflicts swiftly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Capacity to remain composed in high-stress situations.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer hardware and software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • College coursework in criminal justice or a related field is advantageous.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.

 

Education:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • College coursework in criminal justice or a related field is a plus.
