Sr. Accountant 

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 base + bonus 

 

JOB PURPOSE

Tosupport, challenge, and partner with the Medical Device Components (MDC)management team by delivering high-performance finance objectives across MDC’sglobal business. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financialreporting, operational accounting, and internal controls across MDC entities inthe US and UK.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/JOBDUTIES

General Accounting & Financial Reporting:

  • Record and maintain accurate accounting entries in compliance with US GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS standards. 
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and adjustments. 
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and complete reporting. 
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow. 
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and responding to audit inquiries. 

Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: 

  • Oversee Accounts Payable processing, including invoice coding, approvals, and vendor payments. 
  • Support Accounts Receivable activities, including billing, collections, and application of receipts. Reconciliations & Controls 
  • Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances. 
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies to maintain integrity of financial data. 

Cash & Treasury:  

  • Monitor daily cash balances and initiate cash transfers, ACH, and wire payments as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining treasury compliance and supporting banking relationships. 
  • Support short-term cash flow monitoring and provide input into working capital forecasts. Tax Compliance 
  • Prepare and file Sales and Use Tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. 
  • Maintain proper tax documentation and support requests from tax authorities or consultants. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis 
  • Support the preparation and review of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts. 
  • Perform variance analysis of actuals vs. budget and provide commentary to management. 
  • Assist in updating and maintaining financial models to support forecasting and business decisions. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Special Projects 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Supply Chain, HR) to align financial and business objectives. 
  • Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support decision-making or special initiatives. 
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation. 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Minimal travel required (up to 10%) for intercompany coordination, site visits, or audit support. 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • 5–10 years' experience in Finance/Accounting
  • QuickBooks proficiency
  • Intercompany accounting and consolidation experience
  • US GAAP & UK IFRS Reporting
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint
