Shift: Typical Hours for this position are 8am-4:30pm
Summary: The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, offices, and public spaces. This role plays a critical part in infection control and patient safety by ensuring proper cleaning and disinfection procedures are followed in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory guidelines. The housekeeper works closely with nursing staff and other hospital departments to support patient care and comfort through consistent, high-quality cleanliness and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans patients' rooms, common areas, ancillary areas, restrooms, locker rooms, halls, offices and any other areas that require attention
- Cleans light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows/window coverings floors and carpets
- Cleans by dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping, replenishes supplies, moves furniture, and hangs draperies
- Ensures all waste is disposed of properly and supplies are maintained.
- Strictly follows isolated and infection control procedures and safety procedure
- Must be able to interact with patients, visitors, and coworkers in a warm, friendly and respectful manner.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Hospital cleaning experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Must be a team player with a strong attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
