Position Description
Travel Required
Major/Essential Functions
- Provides comprehensive care for seriously ill newborns, infants, children, and adolescents or those needing a high level of monitoring in a pediatric intensive care unit
- Provides clinical supervision of advanced practice professionals
- Delivers instruction, clinical supervision, and assessment of medical students and residents
- Engages in the advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
- Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
- Contributes to the community through academically related public service complementary to the institutional mission
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
- Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso
- Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)
- Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
- Training or experience managing patients on Extracorporeal life support, and in Trauma, Neurological, and Cardiac Critical Care
- Board Certification in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

- M.D. or D.O. degree, or foreign equivalent medical degree
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency program
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship program
- Texas medical license, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
