Position Summary
The Lead Self-Direction Assistant oversees day-to-day operations of Home-Based Services, ensuring services meet the needs of people with disabilities and their families while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and funding requirements (DHS, IDPH, BQM, CMS, etc.). This role provides leadership, training, and mentorship to the team, maintains an active caseload, and acts as a trusted resource and advocate for families.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Support

· Train, mentor, and guide team members to ensure quality, consistent supports.

· Monitor required certifications and provide professional development opportunities.

· Contribute to strategic planning, goal setting, and budgeting.

· Lead Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) compliance efforts.

· Maintain an active caseload of HBS families.


Advocacy & Family Support

· Provide information, resources, and referrals to families promptly and professionally.

· Advocate for individuals and families, especially during times of crisis.

· Maintain an updated inventory of resources of interest to families.

· Promote person-centered supports that exceed industry standards.


Partnerships & Outreach

· Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, referral agencies, and community partners.

· Represent RGA at outreach events, trainings, and fundraisers.

· Conduct annual satisfaction surveys to identify support needs.

Requirements

  Required:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field.

· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

· At least 3–5 years of supervisory experience.

· Previous experience in a direct support role.

· Ability to lift 75 lbs. and assist with transfers.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with technology.

· Successful completion of background checks (CANTS, LEADS, State Police).


Preferred:

· QIDP experience.

· Knowledge of CQL, Personal Outcome Measures, DHS, and DCFS regulations.
