Job Summary:
This is a critical role within Network Security that requires extensive security experience and expertise in evaluating applications and implementations from a security perspective. The Lead Network Security Automation Engineer will also provide coding and automation skills necessary to excel in this role. They will collaborate with various departments, including Cyber Threat Center, Cloud Operations, DevOps, Infrastructure, Identity and Access Management, and more, to enable business strategies while ensuring security alignment. This role involves interacting with leadership at all levels to facilitate effective communication and alignment.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Articulates the security perspective to the business and helps them understand the potential impact and possible controls in business terms.
• Communicates business knowledge and requirements to the Information Security organization thus ensuring security is aligned with business strategy and need.
• Counsels business units in understanding regulatory information security compliance requirements and helps ensure compliance.
• Represents the business unit in the development of policies and standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all IT internal audits, participates in scoping, deliverable requests and collaborates with senior leadership to clear audit reports and ensure action plans are complete and effective.
• Ensures IT owners are held accountable for their controls and understand responsibilities as to risk mitigation and remediation as well as compliance to security policy and standards to reduce liabilities.
• Understands and reports on the overall information security risk posture of the business unit, and provides an enterprise view of vulnerabilities and associated risks to both the business and information security.
• Focuses on process improvement to manage risk, proactively prevent problems, and identify opportunities for efficiencies and automation.
• Investigates security incidents for the business and works with Information Security teams to recommend/implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Understands, tests, and implements security plans, products, strategies, and control techniques.
• May lead or participate in security-related projects and strategy.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Cybersecurity Expertise across multiple technical platforms including Network, Network Security Appliances, Server (Linux and Windows), Desktop (Linux and Windows), and a common understanding of security controls to support any, and all systems
• Ability to code to support automation
• Must have coding experience using Python, Java 
• Ability to evaluate code from a cybersecurity perspective and provide remediation guidance and expertise
• Familiarity with Service Now and go programming is a huge plus
• Familiar with the following network security appliances: ForeScout, Palo Alto Firewalls (Cloud/Virtual/and Physical), Gigamon, Akamai, and F5
• Ability to interface professionally with vendors to identify and work through bugs and errors within the vendor's tools to ensure RJ is functional while using these applications/appliances/services
• Ability to lead projects from a cybersecurity perspective and provide security expertise on projects that he/she is assigned.
• Ability to support/build automation for Network Security through Service Now Integration and API integration.
• Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
• Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
• Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
• Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.
• Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
• Make internal and external clients and their needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships.
 
Education/Previous Experience:
• TYPICALLY requires a Bachelor's degree; 5 plus years of relevant experience. 
 
Licenses/Certifications:
• Computer Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months.
• AWS Certification ability to obtain within six (6) months
• PM Certification ability to obtain within six (6) months
• Lean 101 Certification ability to obtain within six (6) months
