Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain federal and state fixed assets books in third party software for the Company and its subsidiaries, including accounting for each entity’s fixed asset additions, dispositions, and transfers.
- Prepare all federal and state book tax differences for fixed assets for all applicable subsidiaries to be used in the quarterly tax forecasts for tax accounting and estimated income tax payment purposes as well as the annual tax return compliance
- Calculate various other annual book/tax differences (IRS Schedule M-3 information) as assigned
- Prepare proforma federal and various state and local income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws
- Assist with federal, state, and local income tax audits as necessary, including assisting with completing information document requests
- Research, analyze, and apply applicable tax rules to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Review and advise on changes in federal and state tax legislation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree; CPA, Master’s of Taxation, or JD a plus
- One to three years of federal and state tax compliance experience
- Strong understanding of tax accounting rules under GAAP
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Team player
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively remotely
- Experience with tax research software (CCH Intelliconnect and/or RIA Checkpoint)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Corptax experience preferred
