Description

The Inventory Specialist serves as a company-wide resource to ensure that the company’s inventory is accurate and adequate at all branches.  The Specialist is responsible for implementing strategies to enhance the methods and processes of monitoring inventory.  The ideal candidate will have familiarity with ERP systems, computer skills, and inventory best practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily inventory monitoring and adjustments for all branch locations
  • Developing processes to improve overall inventory accuracy
  • The development, execution, and maintenance of inventory auditing standards and daily reporting, along with the investigation of discrepancies
  • Train branches on inventory standards and assist with inventory auditing services
  • The development of company-wide warehouse standards and an implementation process to standardize across all branches
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse layout for optimal storage and accessibility
  • Provide standardized reporting to management/corporate on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis regarding all warehouse and inventory operations
  • Periodic travel to branch locations is required

Qualifications


Education/Certifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferred
  • Familiarity with irrigation/plumbing supplies or the Eclipse ERP system is a plus.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and data entry (ability to download and export reports, filter, and perform lookup functions).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented
  • Self-Motivated
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items and operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
