JOB TITLE:         DEPOSIT OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

FLSA STATUS:     NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO:     DEPOSIT OPERATIONS MANAGER

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 
This position exists to process, transactions and balance settlement accounts. Generate reports in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner to support the financial management and operations of the credit union. This position is responsible for ensuring accounting records and reports are accurate and in compliance with generally accepted accounting and financial practices. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Process the following:
a.    Paper and electronic incoming payrolls
b.    Share drafts, Sight drafts, remote deposits capture, and shared branching adjustments
c.    Check 21 balancing and rejected items as necessary
d.    Escheat accounts
e.    Credit Life/Disability and Debt Protection Insurance premium reports
2.    Balance the following:
a.    General ledgers 
b.    Check register
c.    Settlements for ATM/ITS and credit/debit cards
d.    Vigo transactions
e.    Redeemed savings bonds
3.    Perform member wire transfer requests and all correspondent bank wire transfers needed for credit union cash management.
4.    Perform all applicable Fedline processes as assigned by the department supervisor.
5.    Reconcile and verify general ledgers and reports daily and monthly.
6.    Scan documents into optical system for retention.
7.    Sort and process mail as needed.
8.    Perform monthly and quarterly sales tax reporting to the State of Iowa. 
9.    Maintain and dispense inventory of cashier checks and ATM cards. 
10.    Act as back up and assist with the duties for the Deposit Operations team members as needed.
11.    Actively and thoughtfully communicating with their supervisor, planning their goals and development, taking accountability for their actions and striving for excellence.

j.    Protect confidential information.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: 
•    High school diploma or equivalent experience. 
•    One to three years’ experience in accounting.
•    One to three years’ experience in financial service industry.     
•    Excellent organizational skills. 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
•    Computer knowledge/data entry. 
•    Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding this position. 
•    Ability to perform under pressure. 
•    Excellent analytical skills. 
•    Problem solving skills. 
•    Team player. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Sedentary work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: 
The following physical activities will be required on a day-to-day basis: climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, pulling, fingering, feeling, hearing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, repetitive motions.
