The Policing Field Manager oversees all Policing (outdoor custodial) efforts for our contract customers and supported workforce.  Manages contract requirements, staff, supported workers, and DDA’s program requirements to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to customers, while providing a work environment that enables individuals with disabilities to be prepared to be employed in a community job.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Supported Worker’s rights and dignity are protected and that they have maximum opportunities to fully participate as a member of the Policing Department.
  • Schedule crews for MTA policing duties. Assign Supported Workers for appropriate placement on crews.
  • Assist with hiring and provide Policing Department orientation for new staff.
  • Develop and implement training for staff and workers, including in-field training, refinement, and implementation of best practices.
  • Ensure that staff and workers are properly supervised and equipped to provide superior policing services for all customers.
  • At least 50% of work hours are to be spent in the field inspecting contract sites (where all work occurs) for quality assurance, meeting with crews and developing relationships with customers to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Interface with HSMs and other support staff to insure that Supported Workers have whatever support necessary to be successful employees, as they prepare for community employment.
  • Monitor or complete all required documentation required of staff including but not limited to: ICM entries, work orders, vehicle reports and incident reports.
  • Perform staff evaluations annually and provide continual performance feedback for staff throughout the year.
  • Manage electronic timekeeping records (Kronos), for all Workers and staff employees, ensuring accurate payroll submission.
  • Manage and monitor the MTA’s mobile data tracking system.
  • Complete all agency required training for position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure monthly vehicle logs are completed and turned in on schedule
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Two to three years’ supervisory and management experience required.
  • Valid MD driver’s license (not provisional) with a clean driving record. Able to meet the agency’s driving requirements. Must have reliable transportation.
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as required

 Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of contract management experience
  • 3 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Intermediate computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary.
  • Must work effectively within a team environment.

 

Working Conditions

  • Hours are typically 7am-3pm Monday through Friday, although flexibility is required.
  • Some limited snow removal duty may be required.
  • Working outdoors in all conditions is required.
  • Some lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available by use of a personal cell phone.
