Defence Construction Canada is looking to add to the growing team here at 14 Wing Greenwood with a Team Leader, Construction Services, to lead a team in the delivery of infrastructure contracts associated with the Canadian Multi Mission Aircraft Program.
The Team Leader, Construction Services, ensures the quality of service delivery within the service line at a site with a large construction program. The incumbent ensures compliance with service line policies and procedures, and manages contract-related risks. The incumbent leads a team of professionals and manages the human resources responsibilities for the team. The incumbent also manages the Client-Partner relationship. The incumbent develops creative solutions and ensures the team is focused on collaboration, and quality and timeliness of deliverables.
You are a good fit if you have experience with:
Managing and administering contracts to ensure work done under them complies with contractual requirements and quality specifications in a construction setting
Coordinate and solve day-to-day contractual problems;
Managing contract risk, monitor and control schedules;
Liaising with Client-Partner representatives (e.g. on project-related problems and risks, negotiate and issue change orders);
Maintaining site activity records (e.g. photos, activity reports); and
Construction Management in a commercial or industrial setting.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:
Primary
- Oversee a team managing construction, professional services and service contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, and DCC contract management policies and processes
- Solve complex problems within delegated authority
- Facilitate contract-related coordination and communications between stakeholders (e.g. contractors, consultants, Client-Partners)
- Promote and manage business development opportunities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
- Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
- Manage risk
- Perform human resources functions (e.g. coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocate resources, and manage performance)

SKILLS
General and Specific Knowledge
- Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in construction, architecture and engineering

Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience
- Minimum: college diploma in engineering, architecture or related field with six years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent

- Demonstrate leadership and human resources management skills
DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP

What is the Canadian Multi Mission Aircraft (CMMA) Program?
The Government of Canada is procuring an enhanced long-range, long-endurance multi-mission aircraft specialized in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, to replace the CP-140 Aurora maritime patrol aircraft. The scope of the Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) project includes aircraft, spare parts, training and training devices, support equipment, mission support centres, integrated logistics support, weapons and expendables, infrastructure, capability upgrades and initial in-service support.
