The Opportunity
A vacancy has arisen for a Continuous Improvement Manager in Aurora, IL on a permanent basis.
We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to provide a full range of productivity services within the operations value streams. They will facilitate and drive direct cost reduction projects throughout the facility, including leading lean events, developing and measuring facility systems and delivering continuous improvement training programs for the facility. They will contribute to the direction in disciplines of best business practices including, but not limited to, yield improvement, labor utilization, overhead spend, capital utilization, indirect spend, plant utilization and efficiency, working capital both raw material and finished goods.
This person will work closely with area leaders to drive greater utilization of processes and procedures and higher proficiency on the changes impacting employees in the organization such that business results are achieved. This person will provide direct support and coaching to front line managers, supervisors and team leaders as they help their direct reports understand and adopt a continuous improvement mindset. This person will be confident in their hands-on leadership and their ability to develop teams in continuous improvement at all levels.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Identify areas for improving plant operational efficiencies, including methods, equipment, and time management. Identify cost-saving opportunities in the manufacturing process.
- Evaluate process capability to identify opportunities for future growth.
- Collect and analyze data, and operating conditions; implement changes and follow-up on results by involving key responsible parties. Responsible for benchmarking and best practice sharing.
- Provide project updates to the factory leadership team and project stakeholders highlighting the current status, adherence to the project time plan, work accomplished, quick wins, points of escalation, elements of risk and the associated mitigation plans.
- Partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools and methodologies including 6S, TPM, RCA, DMAIC, Loss Tree Analysis, and more to drive sustainable operational improvements.
- Coach and serve as a resource to plant staff on all continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop, design, and document processes that improve safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking system (where needed)
- Manage and evaluate the Continuous Improvement staff including but not limited to performance management and employee development, etc.

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in IL. The annual salary for IL based employees for this role is $100,000-125,000. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
