Description
The Finish Sprayer position at United Cabinet Company involves applying various types of finishes to cabinets using proper spray techniques. The role requires a keen eye for quality, as the individual will be responsible for inspecting sprayed parts to ensure they meet the company's standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the cabinetry industry, specifically with HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray guns, and will be expected to troubleshoot any finish process issues that arise, diagnosing root causes and implementing corrective actions as necessary. In addition to spraying, the Finish Sprayer will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all spraying equipment to ensure optimal performance. The role also includes completing daily and weekly worksheets in accordance with internal processes, adhering to all safety rules and regulations, and maintaining good attendance. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, as they will be required to work collaboratively with others in a team environment and may need to train new sprayers. The position also involves rotating into other roles as directed by supervision and maintaining a clean work area consistent with the 5S program. The Finish Sprayer will notify management of any quality issues and will assume additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor. This position is not only about performing tasks but also about setting an example for other sprayers and contributing to the development of the finishing department.
Responsibilities
- Spray all types of finishes on cabinets using proper spray technique.
- Inspect sprayed parts for quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot various finish process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Clean and maintain all spraying equipment.
- Complete Daily/Weekly worksheets in accordance with internal processes.
- Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain good attendance and work collaboratively with team members.
- Train and develop other sprayers within the Finishing department.
- Rotate into other positions as needed as instructed by supervision.
- Maintain work area consistent with the 5S program and training.
- Notify management of issues related to quality and completion.
- Assume other duties as assigned by department supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in the cabinetry industry.
- Demonstrated ability to spray proficiently in a spray booth applying enamels, stains, etc.
- Knowledge and use of paint, stain, sealers, spray-guns, and pots (conversion vanish application).
- Knowledge of procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials.
