Responsible for the implementation of an effective electrical program to include an electrical maintenance program. Supervise, coordinate, and manage electrical crew and their related activities for the work of assigned electrical maintenance team.
Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations.
Essential Functions
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Electrical, or other related field and three (3) years supervisory experience in maintenance/facilities/construction department similar in size and scope to YISD
OR High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) and eight (8) years of verifiable experience in a maintenance/facilities/construction, to include three (3) years supervisory experience in a maintenance/facilities/construction department similar in size and scope to YISD; Valid Master Electrician License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR); Experience and working knowledge of current computer software and hardware related to position. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans. Must possess effective oral and written communication skills, public speaking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with district employees, co-workers, and community. Valid Texas/New Mexico driver’s license, must be insurable by the district’s liability insurance carrier; subject to the YISD drug and alcohol testing policy and regulation.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district-wide travel. Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently; work under all weather conditions; exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and loud noises; be adaptable to work a shift schedule and/or hours other than regularly assigned; extended periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, stooping, heavy lifting, and carrying. Work outside and around/on ladders, scaffolding, moving objects, or vehicles. Possible exposure to insects; ability to work around pesticides and herbicides or other potentially hazardous materials in a safe manner. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around gas lines and fumes, and toxic chemicals, inside and outside.
