Hybrid FORKLIFT OP L4 - KILNS - OLA, AR presso PotlatchDeltic

The purpose of this position is to ensure a quality product of lumber is moved through the kilns with minimum to no defects.  

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $24.81.

Key Activities:

• Must be able to obtain a forklift license.

• Must complete the daily checklist on equipment according to the Mobile Equipment Procedure.

• Must be able to safely operate a forklift to load and unload kilns in a timely manner.

• Monitor the kiln computers and determine the appropriate time frame to perform a hot check using a Wagner probe which will determine if they are dry or need to be restarted.

• Monitor the hammermill and ensure that it is gathering fuel for Kiln #5 and unclog if necessary.

• Ensure that lumber is stacked uniformly with the proper number of bunks.

• Assist the sawmill and planer in ensuring they are meeting production by feeding the reman.

• Load 1” lumber trucks and round bundles with forklift.

• Perform daily housekeeping duties and basic preventative maintenance.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

• Must have previous forklift experience, Taylor Forklift preferred.  

• Forklift license required.

• Ability to get along well with others.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

• Ability to make decisions quickly.
