Cozen O’Connor is seeking an Electronic Legal Billing Appeals Coordinator to work with the firm’s billing team responsible for reviewing incoming emails, researching records, interacting with internal stakeholders, and submitting write off requests.
This is a hybrid (in the office 3 days a week) position in the Philadelphia office.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Appeals inbox emails (invoice rejections, deductions, budget & timekeeper approvals, etc.)
- Coordinate information with legal teams to submit high volume of appeal submissions
- Submit write off requests for website deductions, if needed
- Identify electronic billing issues which frequently cause invoice deductions
- Maintain appeal history and information within BillBlast
- Projects and research as needed with regards to invoice deductions & appeals
- Compare/Report frequent deductions and/or rejections for same avoidable reasons

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates or bachelor's degree, in a related discipline. preferred.
- One to two years of related experience required
- Ability to handle voluminous workflow, prioritize workload and requests to meet deadlines
- Thorough understanding of the client’s billing requirements, history and billing policies
- Prior experience performing the same or similar functions in a law firm preferred
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel required as well as experience with the other MS Office suite (Word, Outlook).
- Electronic billing and Aderant experience preferred
- Knowledge and awareness of LEDES file requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills and accuracy are a must
- Must be proactive, work well under pressure and excel in a fast paced environment
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, highly organized and reliable, have the ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment
- Professional and courteous communication with clients, attorneys, paralegals and staff are a must.
The salary range for this role is $65,000-$75,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
