The accountant oversees MIttera's financial transactions and reporting processes, playing a key role in supporting our financial operations and driving the company's overall success. This position requires a strong grasp of accounting principles, proficiency in financial analysis, and the ability to manage a variety of accounting functions with accuracy and efficiency. 

Requirements

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including preparation of journal entries, month-end closing activities, and account reconciliations.
  • Month-End Close: Coordinate and execute month-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, accounts are reconciled, and financial statements are prepared on time.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and managing customer collections.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to audit requests, and implementing recommendations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and present findings to management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the printing or manufacturing industry.
  • CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or industry-specific systems) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
