Summary

The Warehouse Clerk - Shipping is primarily responsible for executing the shipping operations of the warehouse. This includes ensuring that incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and on time. All Warehouse Clerks are cross-trained in receiving, stocking, kitting, and shipping functions to support overall warehouse operations. 


This position is onsite, full-time in our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run the daily shipping report to plan daily tasks. 
  • Pick, pack, and label products based on shipping documents and customer requirements. 
  • Verify correct shipment quantities by cross-referencing sales orders, quality documentation, and ERP system data. 
  • Identify materials requiring additional processing (e.g., plating, assembly). 
  • Securely pack items in appropriate containers to prevent damage during transport. 
  • Use shipping software (e.g., UPS, FedEx, USPS) to process domestic and international shipments. 
  • Schedule and coordinate carrier pickups or deliveries as needed. 
  • Load boxes, packages, or pallets onto delivery trucks. 
  • Perform invoicing for all outgoing shipments. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping area and manage shipping supply inventory. 
  • Report inventory discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors promptly. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate expedited shipments or resolve shipping issues. 
  • Adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Cross-Training Responsibilities

  • Support receiving activities (e.g., unloading deliveries, inspecting incoming materials, transporting items to designated areas). 
  • Support stocking and kitting activities (e.g., storing materials, assembling kits for production or shipment). 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a shipping or warehouse role. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in using inventory control and shipping systems. 
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or warehouse ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes and best practices. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Basic math skills, including ability to compute percentages and work with fractions and decimals. 
  • Willingness to operate forklifts and complete necessary training/certification. 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, stand, carry, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods. 
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 40 pounds regularly. 
  • May occasionally be exposed to hazardous materials or outdoor weather conditions.
