We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our Service Department based in our Laredo office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of trailer repair technicians and assign daily tasks based on work orders and priorities.
- Ensure timely, high-quality maintenance and repair of trailers, including brakes, suspensions, doors, lighting, floors, and frames.
- Monitor repair timelines to ensure fleet availability meets operational demands.
- Perform inspections and quality control checks on completed work to ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate trailer technicians to support skill development and performance improvement.
- Maintain records of repairs, parts usage, labor hours, and service histories using fleet management software (e.g., TMT, Fleetio, etc.).
- Coordinate with parts suppliers to maintain adequate inventory and manage ordering of necessary components.
- Ensure proper safety practices and OSHA compliance in all repair and maintenance activities.
- Assist in diagnosing complex repair issues and perform hands-on repair work as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, shop efficiency, and technician productivity.
Requirements
- 310T and/or 310J licenses are an asset
- 3+ years of experience as a Trailer Repair Supervisor is required
- Valid G-class driver’s license with clear driving record
- Knowledge of truck parts and equipment and truck repairs
- Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations is an asset
- Effective problem solver with the ability to understand issues and find solutions in a timely manner
- High attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
