About the Department
The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a knowledgeable and customer service-focused individual for the position of Sports Official. Sports Officials are responsible for officiating athletic games and events including, but not limited to basketball, volleyball, and football at the Breckenridge Recreation Center and its fields. This role ensures that all games are conducted in a fair, safe, and sportsmanlike manner in accordance with established rules and regulations. Sports Officials are also expected to officiate other recreational sports as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a strong knowledge of multiple sports.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have High School diploma or GED.
- Must have one (1) or more years of customer service experience.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge (via work history and/or playing experience) of one or more of the following:
- Volleyball
- Flag Football
- Basketball
- Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- One (1) or more years of officiating experience preferred.
- One (1) or more years of playing experience at High School or Club Level preferred.
Other Qualifications
Typical Hiring Pay Range: $20.50 - $21.75 per hour.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The work schedule for this role varies, but is typically Monday - Thursday. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability; and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
