Research is focused on the interplay of DNA repair pathways and anticancer therapies. The aim is to investigate how the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway processes DNA adducts formed by antitumor agents such as cisplatin or trabectedin. The project involves biochemical, cell biological and structural studies of how NER protein interact with damaged DNA to excise lesions formed by anticancer agents. The long-term goal is to leverage mechanistic insights into NER to improve anticancer therapies. The incumbent will have the opportunity to apply for grants and ultimately develop their own research program.%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp class=%22p1%22%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-family:%27Aptos%27,sans-serif;font-size:11.0pt;%22%3E%3Cspan style=%22line-height:115%;mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-bidi-font-family:%27Times New Roman%27;mso-bidi-language:AR-SA;mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;mso-fareast-font-family:Aptos;mso-fareast-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-latin;mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;%22%3EThe candidate is expected to have conducted several years of postdoctoral research, strong publication record, experience in studying genome maintenance pathways, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
