Title: Elementary Principal
Reports To: Chief Academic Officer
Takes Direction From: Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Chief Academic Officer
Calendar: 12 month
Summary: To serve as the educational leader by directing the total operation of the school community, which will ensure that optimal learning opportunities are provided for all staff and students. The principal provides effective leadership for the continuous evaluation, development, and improvement of the school’s education program that is consistent with the district’s mission, vision, and beliefs.
Essential Functions:
Serves as the educational leader by providing support/coaching related to instructional staff.
Ensures the continuous school improvement plan is implemented, monitored, and adjusted to meet the needs of all students.
Supervises, supports, and develops support staff to ensure overall effectiveness of the school community.
Demonstrates knowledge and competencies of the North Penn curricula and Pennsylvania Core Standards.
Ensures the safety of all students, staff, and community by implementing the District's Code of Conduct and School Safety Plan.
Supports, coaches, and provides guidance for all educator specialists.
Develops, supports, and maintains a positive school culture that embraces collaboration.
Develops, supports, and maintains a positive relationship with home and school, community partners, and other organizations.
Maintains effective communication and collaboration with district offices while supporting district policies and directives.
Remains fiscally responsible and operates a budget based on the best interest of students.
Provides effective supervision of the school plant.
Organizes and maintains an efficient and family-friendly office.
Analyzes, develops, and implements effective professional development.
Grows professionally and personally as an educational leader.
Supervises and evaluates all staff.
Recruits, hires, and maintains a talented workforce.
Participates on district-wide committees; attends and supports evening and weekend events.
Performs other responsibilities as directed by Supervisors.
Education and/or Certification Required:
Experience Needed:
Minimum of five years teaching experience.
Successful experience in building administration preferred.
Successful experience in administrative leadership preferred.
