Overview:

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Network Engineer to work on-site in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, supporting a global Fortune 500 company. This position requires candidates to be located within commuting distance of McConnellsburg and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on Cisco and Palo Alto technologies. The role supports multiple locations, including Hagerstown, Frederick, and Shippensburg, PA.

As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for delivering technical support and implementing network solutions across a complex global infrastructure. You will play a key role in maintaining enterprise-level networks, supporting business-critical services, and collaborating closely with both operations and project teams. This is a highly visible role suited for candidates with Cisco expertise, an eagerness to grow, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Cisco technologies including switching, routing (including SD-WAN), Cisco ISE (802.1X and TACACS), DNA Center, Wireless, and ACI.

  • Support Palo Alto technologies such as Firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect VPN, URL-Filtering, IoT Security, and PRISMA.

  • Deliver medium to high complexity Run-the-Business (RTB) support and incident service requests within a global infrastructure.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more networking domains.

  • Act as a resource on application and infrastructure projects, representing networking capabilities and constraints.

  • Assist in gathering technical requirements, proposing recommendations, and implementing solutions aligned with business goals.

  • Provide knowledge sharing and mentorship through writing technical documentation, creating network diagrams using Microsoft Visio, and supporting peer development.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule supporting global operations (once every 1–2 months).

  • Support services such as DNS, DHCP, and utilize ServiceNow for ticket tracking.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.

  • Documented experience managing enterprise-level networks.

  • Hands-on Cisco networking experience.

  • Experience supporting DNS, DHCP, and wireless routing.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing demands.

  • Experience using Microsoft Visio to create technical network diagrams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen or green card holder).

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.

  • Must be able to work onsite in McConnellsburg, PA.

Preferred Experience:

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA (strongly preferred), CCNP, or CCIE.

  • Familiarity with Palo Alto technologies (training will be provided if not already experienced).

  • Industry certifications such as Network+, ITIL Foundation, or other networking/cloud-related credentials.

  • Prior experience working within a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with Cisco DNA Center, ISE, and ACI technologies.

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with frequently changing requirements.

  • Exposure to or experience supporting multiple office locations.

  • Interest in growing into a more senior role over time.
