This challenge awaits you:
Nowadays the control of modern powertrains has reached challenging levels of complexity. To unlock further potentials in terms of fuel/energy consumption, emissions, product costs and on-board-diagnostics new ideas and approaches are required. We are looking for employees for our new location in Valladolid, Spain, which we are currently setting up for customer projects. If you want to continue working in the field of thermodynamics, combustion engines and/or deal with complex powertrain control systems in interdisciplinary teams after completing your studies or doctorate, you can expect different activities in a versatile area of responsibilities.
Your Tasks:
- You model hybrid powertrain components based on physical principles and map data
- You set up simulation models for entire powertrain systems
- You optimize energy consumption, performance, and emissions of different powertrain configurations using model-based methods
- You calibrate and validate powertrain component and system models using measurement data
- You develop a modular library of powertrain component models based on individual component and subsystem models
- You implement and optimize control strategies for powertrain systems
- You analyze powertrain behavior using measurement and simulation results and define optimization measures to meet specified performance targets
Necessary Skills:
- Successfully completed engineering at a university with a focus on thermodynamics, powertrain components and systems or control technology, preferably with a doctorate.
- Experienced employees as well as recently graduated people are welcome
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge in physics-based modelling and simulation of mechatronic systems and powertrain components
- Solid grasp of how major hybrid powertrain components (internal combustion engine, energy storage system, electric machines…) operate and function Basic knowledge of programming with Matlab or Python experience with Matlab/Simulink is beneficial
- Knowledge in dedicated powertrain simulation tools like GT-SUITE and in Calibration-Tools like INCA or CANAPE is nice to have
- Of advantage: Previous experience in detailed modeling of combustion, catalytic, electrochemical or electromagnetic processes
