The starting pay range for this position is $76,364.66-$95,449.89/annual, and final pay rate will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity factors. What you'll do  

The Project Manager II (PM2) is responsible for the facilitation, documentation, implementation, and overall management of Project Management Office (PMO) led projects as directed by the PMO leader and assigned by the PM Lead. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Exemplify the Canvas brand and support our Canvas team 

  • Exhibit support for Canvas’ mission, goals, and values, initiatives, and cost control
  • Ensure approved changes adhere to all Canvas policies and procedures
  • Ensure approved changes adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements

Build trusted relationships with Canvas team members 

  • Be the trusted expert regarding the processes and changes being implemented
  • Clearly communicate in a timely manner, all project roles, responsibilities, and expectations
  • Actively listen and regularly request feedback from all project team members
  • Be the go-to resource for problem escalation and mediation for both internal Canvas teams and external vendor/consultant teams
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn / apply new skills and software applications
  • Directly serves strategic initiatives set by senior leadership and the executive team
  • Regularly exercises independent judgment on matters of significance related to project management at the credit union

Follow project management standards as defined by the PMO Leader  

  • Identify primary, secondary, and informational project team members for assigned projects and effectively manage their participation and support
  • Understand strategic prioritization of projects as identified and communicated by PM Lead
  • Document all meeting activities, discussions, and action items according to PMO standards
  • Exhibit clear and consistent expertise related to all project management disciplines as identified by the PMO
  • Manage 4-7 medium projects, or 1 large project to completion, including but not limited to documentation of tasks, identification of task owners, task timelines, critical milestones, consistent follow up, and task closures
  • Facilitate meeting discussions in an efficient and professional manner, including identifying the right team members, managing meeting schedules, and documenting key discussion topics and action items
  • Apply project management disciplines to all projects assigned by PM Lead
  • Provide project management support to specific business areas as assigned by PM Lead
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job
  • Develop and maintain project and change management documentation as directed by PM Lead
  • Present professional and timely oral and written project status updates as requested by PMO Lead
  • Serve as an escalation resource for all project issues and opportunities
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and review them with PM Lead

Adhere to compliance and regulatory standards 

  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and all applicable compliance requests and requirements
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Pre-employment background review (components include criminal, employment, address, social security number, motor vehicle record, global sanctions, and sex offender)
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Job Qualifications 

Knowledge, Skills, & Ability 

  • Strong relationship building and teamwork skills with ability to develop and maintain consultative relationships with Canvas team members
  • Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques, and tools
  • Proven ability to develop project plans, coordinate and complete projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to communicate clearly and in a compelling manner
    • Ability to listen effectively and clarify information as needed
  • Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with demanding deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidences
  • Current Canvas employees must be meeting performance expectations and consistently demonstrating HEART behaviors to be considered. 

Education or Formal Training 

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management/Project Management Certification preferred but not required 

Experience 

Minimum of 4 years of project management related experience

Working Environment/Physical Activities

High volume, fast-paced, dynamic office environment with some travel. Must be able to attend meetings and events outside of regular business hours. The job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, fax machines and filing cabinets. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. The position requires bending, stooping, or standing, as necessary.
