This document outlines the role, responsibilities, and expectations of CDL Hazmat Driver for Four Corners Welding & Gas Supply.
Role Overview:
The CDL truck driver is expected to work as a valued member of the shipping and receiving operations. This job will primarily consist of local vehicle operation and bulk delivery operations involving positioning, moving, loading, and unloading the truck.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Required: High School or equivalent
- CDL Driver: Minimum 1 Year Experience
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate company-owned trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
- Deliver cylinders, liquid vessels, and merchandise including bulk delivery
- Loads and unloads cargo, ensuring it is properly secured for transport
- Completes paperwork such as delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel receipts
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance, including refueling and cleaning, and reports any mechanical issues
- Maintains a complete and accurate shipping manifest
- Assisting with pumping oxygen and CO2 cylinders and transfilling other cylinders.
- Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment.
- Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture
- Exceptional customer service during delivery and pick up operations
- Protects the company’s value by keeping proprietary information confidential
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- All other assigned duties by management

Required Skills & Experience:
- CDL License
- Hazmat Certification
- Medical Examiner Certification
- Safe driving and navigation of various road conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Specific hazardous material handling, extensive knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
- Ability to maintain high safety standards and identify safety hazards.
- Knowledgeable in cylinder safety and handling procedures
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have supervisory duties

Physical effort requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders, gripping, reach with hands and arms, carrying, climb up and down stairs. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and keyboarding. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Exposure to dust, exposure to extreme weather conditions. Visual abilities, near and far vision, depth perception.

Work Hours and Environment:
This full-time position requires a commitment to work from Monday to Friday, mostly days, hours of work vary due to changing schedules, weekend work may be required as schedule demands.
