SUMMARY

The primary responsibility for the Hybrid WA / RTD is to provide and ensure excellent customer service that will enhance customer relationships and lead to ongoing sales, by performing shipping, receiving, and other warehouse activities to fulfill customer orders in an accurate, safe, and timely manner. The secondary responsibility will be to operate a 26-foot, 26,000-pound dock truck in a safe and efficient manner.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greet customers in the warehouse or will-call area and handle requests, orders, or inquiries efficiently.
  • Assist with incoming inquiries via warehouse phone or will-call.
  • Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, lift products, stand up order picker, and other standard warehouse machinery.
  • Receive, unload, move, and place all warehouse merchandise accurately and safely.
  • Prepare, load, stack, stage, and secure merchandise for delivery accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in processing, recording, and creating packing slips, pick tickets, customer returns, etc., using a computer.
  • Model professional behavior and take preemptive action to ensure warehouse is organized, clean, accessible and safe for employees and customers.
  • Participate in counting physical inventory.
  • Comply with safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Work scheduled shift of M-F.
  • Participate in continuous learning and development through training initiatives such as MN Air University, HR programs, tech-support courses, and webinars.

Route Driver Duties:

  • Fill in as a substitute route truck delivery driver if a primary driver calls in sick or is using PTO.
  • Operate a dock truck to transport goods within a 100-mile radius of the home terminal, mainly across the Midwest 5-state area.
  • Prepare, receive, and provide documentation for deliveries and pickups, ensuring accurate and timely service.
  • Load, secure, unload, and deliver equipment according to customer needs and company policies.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections, including refueling and ensuring all safety features are operational.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in using computers, RF Scanners, and software applications.
  • Proficient in operating a 26,000 lb., 26-foot dock truck safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and web-based or physical maps.
  • Skilled in safely operating a forklift and picker for warehouse duties.
  • Capability to plan and execute delivery routes effectively.
  • Competent in maintaining basic logs and records.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Forklift Certification (can be obtained on the job).
  • Valid Class D license or higher with a good driving record.
  • Completion of all required drug/alcohol tests and physicals as mandated by DOT.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular exposure to dusty and varying temperature conditions.
  • The work environment is moderately noisy, with typical sounds of forklift and loading dock operations.
