Walton Arts Center Inc. operates two campuses: a 1,200-seat proscenium theatre and 269-seat black box in Fayetteville and an 11,000-capacity outdoor Amphitheatre known as the Walmart AMP in Rogers, AR. Walton Arts Center has been Arkansas’ premier performing arts center for over 30 years and Walmart AMP has consistently been one of Billboard's top-rated amphitheaters producing 30 plus concerts per season.

Position Overview

Full-time Ticket Representatives are responsible for providing exemplary customer service to our patrons. Primary duties include providing information on upcoming events as well as selling, processing, and printing tickets and subscriptions for Walmart AMP, Walton Arts Center, and other partner organizations. Ticket Representatives work to communicate and reinforce our organizational mission and brand and will represent the Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP at various shows, performances, and events - in person at both venues as requested. This position works primarily in a call center environment at both WAC and AMP when not assigned to event shifts.

Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Remain available for incoming calls as much as possible and provide excellent customer service to all patrons and fellow staff
  • Full Time Ticket Representatives will be scheduled to work during regular daytime box office hours as well as during shows and events, which will include night and weekend shifts. Event shifts are based on the needs of the touring company, therefore the box office hours along with ticket representative shift times will fluctuate based on those needs
  • Participate in outbound calling plans and marketing efforts as assigned
  • Participate in & complete the daily duties assignments including voicemails, emails, morning reports and general office management
  • Serve as an information resource to patrons regarding shows, events and policies while working to communicate our organizational mission and reinforce the organization's brand
  • Sell, process and print tickets, by phone or in person
  • Represent Walton Arts Center I Walmart AMP at both on and off-site events as scheduled
  • Stay up to date on Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP events, as well as other local area happenings that would affect our events or venues
  • Solve ticketing issues while maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor
  • Maintain the highest levels of accuracy with regard to all ticket-related and financial transactions
  • Maintain cash drawers with appropriate change and balance end of shift deposits
  • Maintain accurate database through up-to-date patron & ticketing information
  • Keep box office space clean and clear of clutter, equipment in good working condition and report any problems immediately
  • Report any technical, phone or internet issues to the on-duty manager immediately
  • Maintain professional working relationships with teammates, fellow staff members from other departments, vendors, patrons and tenants of leased spaces
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, including dress code standards
  • Look for and suggest ways to improve office efficiency and ticketing processes
  • Stay up to date on software upgrades, training, certifications, etc. as assigned
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor for which the employee is qualified and physically able to perform with reasonable accommodations

Education, Training, Traits

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bilingual language skills a plus
  • Passion for the arts & entertainment industry
  • Must be positive, engaged, and enthusiastic
  • Must be able to communicate effectively via phone or in person to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and quickly resolve problems
  • Must be organized, accurate, consistent and able to monitor work for quality
  • Must be able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and have an on-going desire to learn and improve
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure and handle conflict in a positive manner
  • Must have the ability to learn and operate a windows-based ticketing system (Tessitura)
  • Must be able to use standard Microsoft Office Tools
  • Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Must be dependable with the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed to meet the needs of the show and on-sale schedule
  • Hybrid work may be available but is subject to event and business needs


Work Experience

  •  A minimum of 1 year in a customer service role. Experience in a venue or call center environment preferred but not required. 

Physical

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
  • Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install and use work-based applications
  • Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to endure standing or walking for extended periods of time on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces
  • Must be able to endure outdoor elements including cold, heat, wind and/or precipitation
  • Must be able to work in large, crowded environments, with flashing lights, loud music and noises, pyrotechnics and cannons as part of shows and events
