Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor position at Sytech is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing processes and providing leadership to a production crew that is vital to our production of our products for our customers. 

We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is willing to be a valued member of our team. Someone who can follow procedures and can motivate their crew to higher standards of operation. 

We always require this individual to be flexible and willing to keep the internal and external customers in mind; while maintaining Quality of Workmanship, Safety, Accountability, and Teamwork, which is vital to our mission.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Aggressively enforces LEAN      manufacturing and S5 concepts. Consistently seeks improvement in all      production operations.
  • Follows ISO related      quality policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Oversees production      workflow, on-time delivery, and quality of parts manufactured. 
  • Provides assistance to      employees regarding machinery setup, operation, and maintenance. Manages      work orders, sets priorities, answer questions, and solves problems.
  • Ensures all      materials/products are identified and traceable to work orders/customer      purchase orders.
  • Identifies and      communicates production issues in a timely and organized manner. 
  • Masterfully leads a wide      diversity of personnel. Overcomes language barriers to ensure a high level      of productivity for all assigned personnel. 
  • Works with the Engineering,      Quality, and Sales departments (job changes, prototype designs, conducts      root cause analysis).
  • Enforces existing quality      control processes, procedures, and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Works with top management      to implement the company’s policies and objectives.
  • Conducts performance      reviews of all assigned personnel.
  • Enforces departmental      safety requirements including the required use of PPE.
  • Partners with Human      Resources in dealing with employee issues and concerns.
  • Overtime when necessary      and needed.

Physical Demands

  • Must possess the ability to concentrate, focus, and pay      strict attention to detail. 

· Must be able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift. 

· Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, use of high and low impact vibratory tools, flexion/extension

· Exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears.

· Requires repetitive motion along with lifting and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. 

· Good manual dexterity is required for operating equipment and moving workpieces and eye-hand coordination.

· Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

· Adaptable to a changing work environment.

· Busier periods may require 12-hour work shifts.

· Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and exposure to noise.

· Frequently lift to/from floor-up to 50 lbs. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Minimum of 2-years’      experience/exposure to LEAN, S5, and continuous improvement principles. No      suitable substitute for this exact prior experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work      in a manufacturing environment. Applicants who do not possess      manufacturing experience will not be considered.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years leadership      and management experience
  • Able to interpret      engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Team player with      exceptional follow through
  • Microsoft Suite preferred;      some computer experience required.
  • Organized professional      with excellent verbal communication skills. Patiently overcomes language barriers.
  • Able to set priorities and      drive for results.
  • Ability      to analyze and solve complex manufacturing problems.
  • Effective decision maker with a can-do attitude

Environmental Exposure:

· Manufacturing metal fabrication environment. 

· Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as machinery, forklifts and carts.

· Exposure to hot or cold temperatures when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).

· Contact with metals, lubricants, and solvents.
