This role will be situated in Glasgow on an permanent basis, where you will be asked to come into the office 5 days per week.
What you will do?
- Handle a varied high volume caseload of principally litigated work arising from road traffic accidents with an appropriate level of supervision.
- Assist Partners dealing with high value cases
- Draft documents and letters ensuring they are adapted to each client and their needs.
- Correspond with clients and other solicitors and liaise with experts where appropriate.
- Analyse evidence and set case strategies encompassing both technical and commercial considerations
- Interview witnesses and prepare witness statements.
- Complete research tasks and analyse documents to provide advice to other team members or direct to clients.
- Achieve, maintain and apply a consistent approach to all individual targets of financial performance
Who you are
- Experience of working within a pressurised and deadline driven environment with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Preferably have a Paralegal qualification or equivalent but an interest in litigation and personal injury is valued so this is not essential.
- Have an outstanding eye for detail
- Be a confident communicator and negotiator
- Have excellent relationship and client handling skills.
- Be responsible for managing all financial aspects of your caseload, including billing, WIP and debt management and accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and information.
- Be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
