The City of Glendora is looking for resourceful, organized, and confident individuals to fulfill the role of Part Time Office Aide throughout the City. The Office Aide position is for someone enthusiastic with customer service skills, able to tactfully handle and respond to requests, find solutions, and disseminate information with a high level of customer service and professionalism. If you enjoy multi-tasking in a busy office environment with a high-volume workload, and are motivated to make a difference, this is an exciting opportunity!
Position Duties
Some of the typical duties of the Office Aide(s) include but are not limited to, the following:
Establishing and maintaining departmental information, records and files
Assisting department staff in obtaining information for preparation of reports and/or other office business
Responding to a variety of requests for assistance and information from the public and fellow City staff
Providing clerical support to departmental staff
Processing requests and other information on computer programs related to Divisional responsibilities
Answering phones
Typing and data input
Preparing and processing correspondence of all types
Deliver inter-departmental office supplies
Budget tracking
Filing
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to: Follow oral and written instructions; perform routine clerical work; establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public; perform various tasks requiring physical strength and dexterity including standing, walking, bending, lifting and climbing; be able to lift 40 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds. Understand and clearly explain City policies to the public and staff members. Applicants must possess and maintain a Class C California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record during employment.
Office Aide I: High school graduate or equivalent with excellent customer service skills.
Office Aide II: High school graduate or equivalent, plus one year of office clerical experience and excellent customer service skills.
Office Aide III: High school graduate or equivalent, plus one to two years of office clerical experience and excellent customer service skills.
Office Aide IV: High school graduate or equivalent, plus two years of office clerical experience and excellent customer service skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher; have basic knowledge of operation of office equipment. Ability to learn and operate various types of office equipment, such as copier, fax, scanner, postage machine, etc.
