Pay Rate (Check One): Standard CBWS Hourly Rate ($15/hr). This position is subject to an annual wage increase. 

IMPORTANT: STUDENTS MUST HAVE A STATE OR FEDERAL WORK AWARD TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR COMMUNITY BASED WORK STUDY (CBWS) POSITIONS. Student CBWS work eligibility is subject to change due to work award re-determinations over the summer. This means even students who were a chosen applicant for the position may be ineligible to work if they do not have a state/federal work award come Fall 2025. Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): The Human Services Program Assistant will provide essential support to CAC by assisting with administrative, outreach, and programmatic tasks. This position is ideal for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in social services, community engagement, and nonprofit work. As a student work-study assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various human services programs and services that support individuals in Rice County.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Learn about community resources and the workings of human services programs

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help with executing community mailings
  • Assist with seasonal programs and projects as needed
  • Assist with data entry, documentation, and file management
  • Help coordinate program activities, events, and community
    outreach efforts
  • Help maintain and update program databases and spreadsheets
  • Provide support for any additional tasks or projects as needed

  • Reliable
  • Interest in social services, human services, or related fields
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
