About this position
The Trades Apprentice is valuable part of the Sulphur Housing Authority because of their function of work assisting the maintenance repairman in vacant unit turnover, performing a wide variety of unit maintenance and repair tasks with assistance. The Trades Apprentice provides an opportunity to learn the skills required for the Maintenance Repairman 1 position. This is an entry level position.

No experience or training is required.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties:

Assist Repairman 1 or 2 in the following:

• Clean out units including haul furniture, wipe all counters and cabinets
• Scrub appliances & fixtures, repair/replace if needed
• Repair sheetrock where damaged
• Repair/Install doors, windows & floor titles where needed
• Install light fixtures & outlets if needed
• Painting units 

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational 

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. 

Work Schedule: Work hours are 7am-5pm, Monday - Thursday, Friday Off. 

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Benefits are offered.
