HAPO is now accepting applications for a Bankruptcy Specialist in Kennewick, WA. The Asset Recovery team has an opportunity for a seasoned Bankruptcy Specialist to join them in representing HAPO’s core commitment “Be in the Moment” and standard of service “Defy Expectations” in each interaction. Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

  • File reaffirmation agreements, proof of claims and creditors claims
  • Attend meetings when needed
  • Builds rapport and develops business relationships with vendors and attorneys
  • Continues education of all bankruptcy law procedures, products, services, the credit union has to offer the membership
  • Process bankruptcies according to procedure which includes filing appropriate bankruptcy forms, updating core & ancillary systems as well as updating appropriate spreadsheets or in collection software screens
  • Protects the interests of the organization and individual employees
  • Nurtures meaningful relationships with members while providing options and resolutions
  • Regularly reviews to ensure that the credit union is receiving timely payments from Ch.13 Trustee
  • Address difficult or controversial issues. Accepts ownership of decisions, actions and problems.
  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills
  • Understands the importance of credit reporting and its impact on members
  • Repetitive but detailed intensive tasks including but not limited to Visa & loan charge offs as well as project related mass data entry
  • Make and accept collection related calls as requested
  • Demonstrates urgency and prioritization as well as detailed follow up on all tasks.
  • Able to assess and analyze trends & data as well as report how it may impact the credit union presently and in the future.
  • Review & submit invoices from attorneys.
  • Must be able to gather facts and data to make gray area decisions within their role
  • Perform technical skills as needed in all programs and software
  • In real time, accurately notate every conversation and interactions with members, or correspondence in relation to a member account in the collection tracking software
  • Required to take and pass all assigned HAPO regulation and procedures training
  • Effectively perform all essential tasks assigned
  • Fully understand and strictly adhere to all Federal Regulations as they pertain to the Credit Union and your position.

 

Requirements: Previous Bankruptcy experience, High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.

Location: On-Site Kennewick (WA)

Schedule: Must be able to work 35-40 hours a week between the hours of 8:30am – 6:30pm M-F with Rotating Saturdays as needed.

Starting Pay Range (DOE): $21.57 - $32.35
This is an hourly position with the potential to earn incentive
