About the Role:
The Employment Services Supervisor position is integral to SPIN by taking the leadership role in managing Employment Specialists to support a life of possibilities for individuals receiving Employment Services. The Supervisor will work closely with the Employment Specialists, Job Coaches and other Employment Service managers to ensure best practices are being implemented in the job development and support process. The Supervisor will ensure that SPIN Employment Specialists and Job Coaches are effectively implementing best practices in supported employment into their work and are proving high quality services to all stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or co-occurring disorders.
- 1 year of employment services experience preferred.
- ACRE and CESP Certification required.
- Driver's License with insured and registered vehicle
Expectations:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively with team members.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in order to meet programmatic and customer needs.
- Driver’s license, vehicle, insurance and willingness to travel Philadelphia and surrounding area if based out of SPIN Philadelphia or Bethlehem and surrounding area if based out of SPIN Lehigh.
- Basic computer skills- MS Office
Accountabilities of an Employment Supervisor:
- Supports Employment Specialists to creatively develop an employment plan for each individual seeking employment which includes resume development, capacity/interest assessment, local business community survey, interview preparation, and ideal conditions of employment
- Researches and develops creative and appropriate job opportunities for individuals seeking employment through informational interviews, business plan development, and community mapping
- Builds and maintains business connections in a variety of business sectors to increase awareness of SPIN Employment Services and create variety in the types of employment gained by those served by SPIN
- Conduct customer service quality checks with SPIN’s business partners to ensure excellent customer service
- Mentors Employment Specialists to ensure their professional development and best practices in job development, discovery, and customized employment are being integrated into each individual’s employment plan as appropriate
- Develops and maintains detailed list of those individuals seeking employment which includes employment interests, ideal conditions, and predetermined benchmarks for the job development process to ensure quality services
- Serve as Employment Services on-call. On-call tasks include troubleshooting individual, family, and staff questions and concerns in the evening and on-weekends as assigned. Employment Services on-call also must be available to provide emergency support in the field as needed. Employment Services on-call must be available to return calls within 30 minutes to best support Employment Services team members

The Supervisor will utilize strong leadership and organizational skills daily to coordinate staff activities and ensure program goals are met efficiently. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with team members, community partners, and fostering collaboration and trust. Problem-solving abilities are applied regularly to address operational challenges and client needs promptly. The use of data analysis and reporting skills supports informed decision-making and continuous program improvement. Additionally, proficiency with technology enables the Supervisor to manage schedules, track program metrics, and facilitate virtual meetings or training sessions.
