SUMMARY: 

Provide day-to-day supervision of clinical laboratory personnel in Specimen Management Division.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and maintains schedules and provides appropriate coverage to ensure timely sample accessioning.
  • Hires, trains and orients new laboratory employees.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains and orders laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Prepares and reports the laboratory metrics and progress reports.
  • Regularly provides performance feedback, mentors employees and completes annual performance reviews.
  • Regularly verifies staff training and competency according to the laboratory regulations.
  • Maintains laboratory compliance according to CAP, NY, CLIA regulations
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Supervisor, Laboratory Operation:

Education:

    • Required: Associate’s degree in discipline related to work being conducted at the clinical laboratory.
  •  Experience:
    • Required: Three years of relevant experience.

Certification/Licenses/Registration:

  • Optional: MB (ASCP) or CG (ASCP)
